Dear Friends and Supporters,
After a long and rainy winter, it looks as though Spring has finally arrived!
Despite the weather, our residents participated in a number of fun activities. Here at West End, kids in the Early Childhood Development program enjoyed making Valentines for their mothers, baking cookies for St. Patricks Day, and engaging in an Easter Egg Hunt after dying the eggs their favorite colors. Mothers in GED found that school doesn't have to be dull as they spent time each Monday learning ballroom dancing, one of the enhancements to the program provided by the NYC Dept. of Education. Our resident seniors took advantage of discount Broadway theater tickets and continued to enjoy their monthly birthday parties.
At Casa Cecilia and Seton House, residents joined our program coordinator to form a walking group to explore their neighborhoods and get in shape at the same time. Spring Fever has prompted them to begin planning several barbeques and other outdoor activities at their residences.
Along with the change of seasons you'll notice some changes to our website. We invite you to check out our new True Colors section which will provide you with regular updates on our new True Colors Residence. Introducing you to the project is a letter from our friend and collaborator, Cyndi Lauper. Coming soon to the site will be a rendering of the residence with information on our progress and recognition of all the people who are helping us make this dream a reality.
As always, we count on your support as we strive to empower and improve the lives of our residents. We hope you'll consider making a contribution to help us in our efforts.
Best wishes for a pleasant and fun-filled spring and summer!
Sincerely,

Colleen K. Jackson
Executive Director
